The Adrian Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to share with its members the results of the recent input we received from many of you. We are grateful to those who participated and will continue to seek input on a regular basis.
Our information gathering efforts identified four opportunities for future Chamber directions.
- Provide education events, particularly in the areas of customer service and leadership
- Offer new networking opportunities
- Promote local businesses through “Shop Local” and “Buy Nearby” campaigns as well as other activities
- Collaborate to efficiently and effectively provide more services
In response to these themes, the Chamber is developing several initiatives that will benefit its members:
This program, offered over several months, will provide professional development in leadership principles and leadership opportunities for up-and-coming leaders.
These new roundtable discussions will give Chamber members a venue to learn from and network with peers and other professionals they aspire to emulate.
Expert Panel Programs
Members will learn about successful business practices that will make an immediate difference in their businesses from experts in various business areas.
New Business Promotion Activities
The Chamber will initiate new marketing efforts on behalf of members to encourage local residents to shop, eat, and use professional services locally.
Strength Through Collaboration
The Chamber ls actively engaged in discussions with Visit Lenawee to identify ways to promote local business and tourism while sharing resources to manage costs. The search for other collaboration possibilities will continue.
In addition to these initiatives, the Chamber will evaluate all current programs to determine which ones to keep, revamp, or discontinue.
We are pleased to announce that Bill Kenyon has agreed to continue as Interim CEO for the near future. Bill’s leadership during this time has allowed the Chamber to clearly assess future opportunities while moving forward to improve programming and engagement.
The goal is to enhance and sustain a Chamber that is helping the business community strengthen their position in an ever-changing marketplace. Thanks to your feedback, and the commitment of many people on our board, in our membership, and in the community at large, we are well on our way. I am looking forward to the future of the Adrian Area Chamber of Commerce.
