Education is a priority in the community from early childhood education to adult learning. Adrian is fortunate to have both private and public schools that offer exceptional educational opportunities, including Adrian Public Schools, Madison School District, and Lenawee Christian School. The Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD) is a regional educational service agency providing educational services to Lenawee County’s public school districts, including special education services, adult learning services, young children services, career preparation services, and more. Adrian also hosts three institutions of higher education within the city limits: Adrian College, Siena Heights University and JC @ LISD TECH, a branch campus of Jackson College.
Arts and Culture
Arts and culture are foremost when one thinks of Adrian. Enjoy live professional orchestral music in Dawson Auditorium and other venues around the city with the Adrian Symphony Orchestra.
Live theater takes place on stage at the Croswell Opera House, Adrian College, Siena Heights University, Lenawee Christian Schools, Madison School District, Adrian High School and other venues throughout Lenawee County.
Enjoy the 16 mounted pieces of art that are on display throughout the Arts Discovery walk.
Last but certainly not least, Art-A-Licious is the city’s premiere arts event that takes over downtown Adrian every September.
Parks and Trails
If you love the outdoors, you will love Adrian! More than 20 parks of all sizes dot the City and provide venues for sports, hiking, biking and just relaxing.
Island and Riverside Parks provide playgrounds, walking trails and baseball fields. Riverside Park is also adjacent to Bohn Pool, Adrian’s community pool which is operated through a joint partnership with the City of Adrian and the YMCA of Lenawee County.
Trestle Park is the gem in our park crown and hosts performances by the Adrian City Band each summer in the Amphitheater.
The Kiwanis Trail stretches from South Main Street through Downtown Adrian to just south of Tecumseh. This scenic trail runs through parks, residential areas, wooded areas, and farmland. It is perfect for biking, walking, running, or in-line skating and offers a window to much of the area’s natural beauty.
Downtown Adrian is home to a wide variety of charming shops, restaurants and stylish salons.
The Croswell Opera House has been at the center of Adrian’s downtown since 1866 and continues to be a focal point for the arts in Lenawee County.
Art, music, food and fun happen downtown the first Friday of every month starting at 5pm with Adrian First Fridays.
The Adrian Farmers Market operates each Saturday morning from May to October in the downtown Adrian Pavilion on Toledo Street.
