As I attend many diverse business and industry meetings across our community, the one thing I hear repeated everywhere is the challenge related to talent acquisition. This can include the need for skilled employees, training opportunities, reasons for employees to move to our community, competition with other areas in our state and region, well you get the picture.

But hiring and training are just one part of the process. As a business, you must also retain and invest in your workforce.  I’m always impressed with companies that refer to their employees as assets. It tells me a lot about that organization. But how do you nurture, grow, retain and continuously improve these valuable people?

We are going to discuss that and much more at the Adrian Chamber’s April Summit Series (formerly Adrian in the AM). Our guest speaker is the Human Resource Association of Southeast Michigan (HRASM).

The Human Resource Association of Southeast Michigan (HRASM) is a professional organization providing educational and networking opportunities to HR Professionals and business leaders in the Lenawee County area.

If you’re a business leader and have employees, you undoubtedly face a variety of unfamiliar employment-related issues.  HRASM’s collaborative members provide support and best-practices guidance to each other.  HRASM hosts educational member meetings, quarterly business roundtable discussions and an annual full-day employment law workshop.

In addition to learning more about HRASM at the April Summit Series, the current President, Amy Bergman, will share best practices on HR Hot Topics which will provide some useful takeaways that you can implement in your business today.

Amy Bergman is Partner and Vice President, Human Resources Consulting with Insight HRM, LLC.  She has an array of experience in Human Resource Consulting, Municipal Government, Non-Profit Organizations and the Financial Services industries.  Amy’s role is providing strategic HR Solutions for a variety of financial institutions, nonprofits and small businesses.

The next Summit Series will be Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 7:30 am at Lenawee Country Club. To register on-line, or learn more, visit
